Dr. Milan Jazbec is Professor of Diplomacy at Nova University, Slovenia, poet and writer, employed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia. He was Ambassador to North Macedonia (2016–2020) and to Turkey (2010–2015), accredited also to Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria. He was State Secretary at the Slovene Ministry of Defense (2000–2004). He has an advanced experience from diplomacy, journalism, business and politics. He published over 60 books and more than 130 articles on diplomacy and related issues, in 14 languages.

He is the editor of the international scientific journal European Perspectives and Senior Fellow at DiploFoundation. In 2004 he received the Grand Golden Decoration of Honour with Star for the Merit of the Republic of Austria. In 2019 he received the Racin Award of Honour in Veles, and was in Sarajevo proclaimed the best Ambassador in South East Europe.

He was visiting professor at Universities Bilkent, METU and Ankara (Turkey) as well as at the South East European University and the International Balkan University (North Macedonia).
